City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics Club is celebrating after performing at last weekend’s Gymfusion London at The People’s Palace, Queen Mary University. The display squad of girls aged between 8 and 15 demonstrated a fresh and magical combination of rhythmic gymnastics, dance and stage performing.
This year’s event had a ‘Time’ theme with an array of gymnastics routines from all over the country. The Bath club wowed the audience with a complex and delightful routine following Dance genres and styles through time, including Charleston, Swing, Disco, Contemporary, Bollywood and Hip hop as well as using ribbons, balls, clubs and hoops to bring the styles to life.
Beautifully choreographed by Head of Display and Badge Classes, Sarah Dennis, an extremely experienced and well-loved coach said: “The girls were brilliant throughout the day and gave a really exciting performance that wowed and entertained the audience.”
Club Chair Sarah Moon, who has coached gymnasts to British and Olympic level said: “I am really proud of the energy, enthusiasm and dedication that Sarah Dennis and the squad team have put in to this performance. It provides a wonderful and accessible opportunity for girls to enjoy all the best parts of gymnastics without the competitive side.”
The Club is always looking for more gymnasts to take part in the display squad and competitive squads of all ages and abilities.
